a reunion and a milestone in vienna

At the beginning of October, the project partners met in Vienna at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) for the so-called «Midterm Review». A milestone within the project, on the one hand to look back on the last 15 months, to check and compare the progress, but on the other hand also to look ahead to the goals still to be achieved. All consortium partners were present with at least one representative. On the second day, the AAL reviewers and the representatives of the national funding agencies (NCPs) were excitedly awaited and welcomed. We presented the current status of the CareApp and the Remote Care Assist system. The comprehensive presentations and demonstrations were very well perceived – also thanks to good preparation – and the reviewers/experts provided constructive and detailed feedback, valuable inputs and recommendations. The experts also felt the productive, collective cooperation of the consortium, which despite the different countries, care systems and practices was able to implement customized solutions jointly.

Accordingly motivated and confident, the upcoming field trials were planned on the last day of the meeting and further project steps were initiated.

Of course, personal and social exchange was not missed out on during these three intensive working days. Vienna presented itself from its most beautiful side during the city walk – bathed in a unique twilight – the bellies were spoiled with Austrian delicious food and the multilingualism and various Austrian-Luxembourgian-Belgian-Swiss dialect words led us to laugh heartily several times.
